Maze: The Ritual
_________________________________________________________________________________
This is a game I developed solo in just over a week, just to learn the ins and outs of Bitsy. I really tried to think outside of the box and make something different with the engine, I really hope you enjoy it!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You wake up to find yourself trapped in an unknown underground maze. Explore the maze and find your way out!
Instructions:
Use your arrow keys to move.
↑: Forward
↓: Backward
→: Rotate Clockwise
←: Rotate Counter Clockwise
If on a mobile browser, then just swipe in the direction you want to move.
To help keep your bearings in the maze, the compass' arrows will highlight which cardinal direction you're facing.
While exploring the dungeon, your compass' North arrow may be replaced with an exclamation mark ( ! ) This indicates that something can be investigated. Press the ↑ key or swipe up to do so.
Protip: If you end up getting lost in the maze don't hesitate to bust out some graph paper! ;)

Yo this was awsome you should make a sequal with more story and mabe even a combat system
Thanks! A sequel would be interesting, maybe after some of my other projects are complete.
:)
This is amazing, congrats!
Thank you so much!
Siiiiiick, camp makes me so happy. This is helping inspire me to make my next bitsy game a first person.
It makes me so happy that I can spark some inspiration! I wish you well on your future projects!
Very neat game, great atmosphere.
Thank you so much for the kind words, and for the playthrough video as well!
Awesome atmosphere!
Thank you!
NOT considering the fact that this game was made in a week, it was fairly good. I feel like the plot could have gone a bit farther, The music got really loud at some points and I didn't feel that scared (that's just me). However, since the game was made in a week, it was really good. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/894682824
Sorry for the incredibly late reply, but just wanted to say thanks for playing and streaming my game! I apologize for the music ramping up so loud towards the end of the track loop.
Looks fantastic and the sound design is very atmospheric! Any chance for a downloadable version (I'm oldfashioned)?
Thank you very much! Unfortunately I don't have any plans to release a downloadable version, sorry!
This is a great use of the engine (also, loved your art!). A good example of working outside the regular limitations to create something out of the ordinary 👏👏
Thank you so much! I thought it would be good practice to try and make something out of the ordinary in Bitsy, and push the engine! ;)
This is so dope! Navigating the maze was dizzying to the point that I really felt like I was in a maze, which was something I think you did uniquely well in this game! The writing is very good too!!
Thank you so much Kate!! That is why I like that first person view, it tends to lend more to that "trapped feeling". It makes me really happy to hear you enjoyed my game and the writing. :)
Hello, I played this game and I liked it, the concept was neat and the sound effects were cool too, good work :)
Thanks for playing, and for the kind words, I'm glad to hear you liked it! Thank you for making a play-through vid as well.
I liked the game but I am not great with mazes so took me a while!
Thank you so much for playing my game, I appreciate it!
The music in this game is perfect! I don't know if you timed it to crescendo when you activate the last shrine or pass through the wall, but it did for me, and it was chilling!
I did not time it on purpose, but I knew that it took roughly 5 minutes to get through the game if you know what you're doing. So I tried to find a track that was just a little longer, and it just happened to work out thankfully! :3
Thanks! :3 I used Bitsy!

I like the story. Literally the only thin I would complain about would just be that it was a little hard knowing where I was, but that makes sense, since its a maze :/ I just suck at mazes. Great game.
Thank you for playing!
fun ty
Thank you for playing! :3
Good game. I just missed the music.
Thank you! :3 Sorry that I didn't have it updated before you recorded.
Neat little spooky game. Nice job :)
Thank you! :3
